Words

totally random post.

1. Do you know the word revolution has the word LOVE spelt backwards in it? rEVOLution.
2. Do you know that the Pokémon named Ekans is actually the word SNAKE spelt backwards?
3. The most wonderful "F" words are "forgive", "forget", go "forward" in "faith", and our hearts are "free".

TNB to sue WWF over Earth Hour

Sunday March 28, 2010

Spoof on TNB has some riled up

PETALING JAYA: A spoof about Tenaga Nasional Berhad planning to sue the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) for organising the Earth Hour campaign posted on a website has riled some people who are unaware that it was a fictitious news report.
The entry, posted on nose4news.wordpress.com contains fictional news articles. It claimed that TNB would be suing WWF for organising the worldwide campaign which was costing the national power provider “millions in unrealised revenue.”
The banner of the site carries a disclaimer stating that articles posted on the site were fiction and that most people are aware of this.
However, there were some who appeared to be taken in by the article based on the unflattering comments left about TNB.
The article was also posted on the social media Facebook, drawing more negative comments about TNB from people who were unaware about the nature of the website that first carried the article.
The article was posted on Thursday but was removed from the site yesterday afternoon.
The author has also issued an apology for “making his fake news appear too real.”
Meanwhile, TNB issued a statement supporting the event and called on its customers to use energy prudently.
LOL...remember my previous post? so this is the reply to it.

Workshop

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You, all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the things I've made it,
When it's all about You, all about You, Jesus...

The chorus of the song 'Heart of Worship' by Matt Redman.

I attended this worship workshop today which was held at my church and im still not sure who the organisers actually were. anyways something hit me today and i haven't had one of these in a very very long time till the point where i totally have forgotten what its like. maybe i've neglected, lazied, strayed and forgotten of  'him' a little too much and that is very very bad. those sessions i go to are mostly just because its has become a routine for me and that pretty much all.

during the middle of the first worship session ,at the chorus of this particular song and when they were building up, the electricity suddenly went off. the lyrics, the acoustic guitar, the atmosphere and everything was so (idunnohowtodescribeit) and tears rolled down. I felt that the short circuit seemed to be like a sign from 'him' saying its enough, you should stop whatever you are doing now. come back to me and forgo everything. the thing is i know i'm not living the way i should and potraiting 'ít' i want to stop but i just couldn't. (btw im not on drugs or something, dont worry). Its not about the music or the things they do. its the heart that matters. doing it without heart or in other words pretending is actually useless and bs.

so thats it. expect a new me when you see me. and this time, its serious. and i hope this will be the last time i need these reminders.

"As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving."
Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)

oh btw, the workshop was great! i learned a lot of stuff and totally enjoyed it X)

Earth Hour

TNB to sue WWF over Earth Hour

KUALA LUMPUR — Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s premier energy provider today announced. In a Press conference, TNB president and CEO Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohd Noh said that the annual worldwide symbolic gesture, which this year would be observed this Saturday at 8.30pm, is nothing more than an ‘arrogant and thoughtless viral movement’ aimed to hurt power companies such as TNB.

CHE KHALIB: These people are inconsiderate
“Obviously these green-minded fellows think they’re really cute, organising such an irresponsible campaign,” said Che Khalib angrily. “They say ‘turn off your lights for an hour’ and people do. I bet that really makes them feel all powerful.
“What these western colonialists fail to grasp is how such drastic action affects the poor companies like us. One hour of unused electricity means an hour of wastage for TNB. Did you know that last year’s Earth Hour costed us millions in unrealised revenue?” asked Che Khalib, seething.
“How do you think that affected our production? We couldn’t exactly turn off our power plants just because a large number of Malaysians turn off their lights at the same time. So imagine all that wasted energy.
“This year, we expect even more people to fall for this global con-job,” added Che Khalib. “So there’ll be more lights turned off. KL alone would be engulfed in darkness. Yes, sure, it may seem fun to some, running around in complete darkness. But that also means TNB would get less money. Tell me, what am I supposed to say to the kids of this electrical technician when we can’t give bonus this year?” asked Che Khalib, as he pointed to a TNB staff manning the lights for the Press conference.
He added, “In light of such inconsiderate actions by these tree huggers, TNB has no choice but to take legal action against the Earth Hour organisers, WWF. We’ll wait for our accountants to come back with the loss figure after this year’s Earth Hour, and we plan to sue them for that same amount. We may even add a hundred million ringgit or so, to teach them a lesson.”
Che Khalib also reminded Malaysians to ignore the Earth Hour, calling it a ‘cultural invasion, a concerted assault by extreme liberal forces aimed to destabilise poorer nations’.
“We are Malaysians, and we should be proud of our lights. Every night we should go out and see the beautiful sparkling lights in our city skylines. Don’t be ashamed of the lights,” said Che Khalib, as he unveiled a set of pictures showing the Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding buildings consequently going dark during last year’s Earth Hour.

DARK TIMES: KLCC buildings going dark last year
“See this? See how ugly, gloomy and dark the last picture is? God knows how many people tripped over things and hurt themselves in the complete darkness, not to mention the number of bad people going around doing naughty things, knowing the authorities could not see them.
“Let’s reverse the order of these pictures this year, and fight for the rights to our lights,” continued Che Khalib. “Let’s unite as 1Malaysia, and tell these green terrorists that we will not go dark! We will not switch off! Let’s tell them that we love our lights!
“POWERRR… EXTREME!” he screamed, as powerful clusters of foglamps flooded the conference room with ultra-bright and hot light, temporarily blinding everyone present, and signalling the end of the Press conference.
now honestly, ive never been really fond over this earth hour thing. Offing your  electrical appliances for an hour? you serious? then what about the 24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week, and 8736 hours in a year? so if minus one, that would make it be 8735 hours in a year. wow, LOL!
anyways, i will not further elaborate XP...go to these sites to like get what i mean:

Chan

i cannot remember who...i think it was my lame classmates...they were like teasing me with the japanese word chan =.=...like seriously...they were like chibi maruku chan...sin chan...lol...wth....

so here is what the word 'chan' actually means or represents:

Everyday suffixes

In everyday life, "san" is the most common suffix. "-chan" is a more affectionate term, used mainly with friends, family members and children. "-tan" is a kind of slang version. "-kun" is usually reserved for boys or young men, but can sometimes be used for girls or young women too. There is also "-shi" (氏), which is an intermediary form between "san" and "sama" in terms of politeness, and is mostly used for professionals like engineers or lawyers.
Then comes "sensei" (先生), which is used for anybody with a knowledge superior to ours. It is most common for doctors, teachers and professors, but can also be used for politicians, martial arts masters, etc. Contrarily to other suffixes so far, "sensei" can be used alone, without a name before it, just like "doctor" or "professor" in English. So, one can say "Nomura-sensei" or just "Sensei", like one could say in English "Professor Nomura" or "Professor".
"Sempai" (先輩) is another very common way of addressing someone with more experience or a hierarchical superior. It can be used alone or after a name, like "sensei".

Flexible politeness

It is possible in Japanese to change the suffix, and politeness level attached to it, you use with one particular person. That means that "politeness" in Japanese is situational and not a fixed status given to someone like in most European languages. You could call a friend or relative alterning the suffix "-chan", "-kun", "-san", "-sama", or even "sensei" if that person is in a position of greater knowledge than you in that situation and teaching you something. A husband teaching his wife how to drive a car or use a computer could be called "sensei" by her at that particular time. She could very well change suffix in the course of the same conversation.

Name short-forms and noun combinations

It is very common for Japanese to use the first syllable of someone's name and combine it with a suffix. For example, "Mi-chan" could be the short-form of Miki, Michiko, Miko, Misa, Minato, Mickey, Minnie, etc.
Suffixes can also be used with some common nouns referring to a person. E.g. "kyaku-san" or "kyaku-sama" (customer, client, guest), "okaa-san" (mother) or, more informally, "okaa-chan" (mum, mom).

Twilight

Photoshop fail: Taylor Lautner's stolen abs

fact that Taylor Lautner is hot — after all they can't have Photoshopped his abs on for the whole of New Moon — so why the hell does he have somebody else's body in the movie's poster?

It took a while for anyone to pick up on this, but some super-observant person has managed to track down Taylor's body double — in fact, they've found the exact photo his now-famous abs were stolen from!

Body snatcher: Jacob Black literally has the body of a male model.
so can i say that twilight is total bs?
no offence :P

Computer Games

(HERE IS THE IMAGE IF YOU CAME FROM FACEBOOK)

The story behind the image:
the picture is actually a word file made into image of what we(my classmates and me) did for our english presentation in semester 1 when we were all still not quite familiar with each other yet. the image you see is actually the story line and dialogue i wrote which we had to do in our skit for our open topic presentation. if im not mistaken the title of our skid was why computer games are benefitial or something like that.

so like any other presentations, we were suppose to memorise the dialogue(duh), but we didnt. we cheated our way through it. :P

since we actually did a topic related to computer games, we chose the scene of a cyber cafe for the skit. all we did and had to do was to look, refer and show body gestures according to what was on my friend's laptop which was facing us(thats the opposite of the audience) for the dialogue which we were too lazy memorise.

we were the first group to present and we actually i think set quite a high standard for the presentations after us cause it looked like as though we memorise the whole crap and the best part was the teacher had no idea that we refered to the computer throughout the whole presentation XD.

so wth, start takei-ing now if you havent. its never to too late to pick up a new skill XD.

GLOSARRY:
takei =  'playing computer games'  in cantonese
noob = newbie or rather a surface level of slang word
memang = 'really have to' in malay
swt = an expression when somethig lame is said
ma = i dunno how to explain this word

Feelings

when the someone you want to be with either goes away or rejects you, there is nothing you can do.
when you realise that you did not do something you shouldve done earlier, there is nothing you can you either.
you wish you can go back in time and change things or tell yourself to not get involve then, you cant.
you can mourn, cry or even rant, but it will not change anything and could even only make things go worse.
all there is left you can do now is to forget and wish them the best in whatever they want to do.
it may not be easy because the harderst thing to do is to forget and to get over the feeling.
so wait and let time be the medicine for the damages done and hurts that you've went through.
surpass this stage so that moving on will not be a problem and always remember that there is always someone better out there.
they may have left us and we may feel lost for a while, but if there really is such thing called fate and you guys are meant to be together, then getting back together in the future should not be a matter.

Screen Saver

Did you know:

Screen savers were originally developed to save older monitors from damage by preventing the burn-in of pixels into the screen. Today, screen savers are mainly used to personalize computers or to protect them with passwords required after a certain amount of idle time.
Screen savers do not conserve energy. In fact, many of today's sophisticated screen savers use more energy than your computer would use under light conditions. Even when a display goes blank, many screen savers continue to run and consume energy. And some screen savers actually prevent your PC from going to sleep.
To increase the energy efficiency of your computer and make less of an impact on the environment, you should use display blanking instead of a screen saver. If you want the security of requiring a password to access the computer after the display has blanked, configure your PC to use the blank screen saver and check the box to display the logon screen on resume. The blank screen saver doesn't consume any more energy than an idle computer, and it allows your PC to go to sleep when the sleep idle timeout is reached.
Note that you might want to set the screen saver timeout to be slightly longer than display blanking timeout. This lets you avoid having to type your password each time your display blanks while you are sitting at the computer. Only after the screen saver itself starts up will you need to type your password to get back to your session.

Brain

According to a test i did, i am more right-brained than left-brained. That means im supposed to be left handed. LOL.
my results were:

Left BrainRight Brain
47%53%

anyways...the thing that caught my attention were these facts/points which i am supposed to be shaped of:

Concrete ProcessingConcrete processing is a method associated with the right hemisphere that is used for processing things that can be seen or touched. It processes much of the information you receive from real objects. For example, a right-brained person is not just satisfied that a mathematical formula may work, but will want to know why it works. A strongly concrete person often finds it easier to solve a mathematical problem by "drawing it out" because it allows them to visualize it. The more a concrete person can visualize something the easier it is for them to understand it.
Your Concrete Analysis
When you process information you have received, the real object is not important to you. You do not have to use the real object to make sense of what you have processed. For example, if solving a math problem you do not have to "draw out" the problem in order to find or understand the answer, and you do not have to visualize something to understand it. However, this also means you often neglect the physical information provided by a concrete example. In other words, you may miss the forest for the trees, trying to deduce something complex when the answer is plain to see.

and

Sequential ProcessingSequential processing is a method used by the left hemisphere for processing information. The information that is received is processed in order from first to last. Information is processed in a systematic, logical manner. Through sequential processing, you can interpret and produce symbolic information such as language, mathematics, abstraction, and reasoning. This process is used to store memory in a language format. Activities that require sequential processing include spelling, making a "to-do" list, and many aspects of organization.
Your Sequential Analysis
You show moderate ability to organize information sequentially. You are capable of processing information you receive in a systematic, logical order from first to last. However, at times you will process information you receive quite randomly, or may give it only a semblance of order. You are probably an average mathematician and speller, and may or may not enjoy tasks such as making "to-do" lists.

well i do like to make to-do lists in my head and i do like to find why certain things are the way it is. Try out the test yourself here
